How to season a clay pot
1. Fill the clay pot with clean water (about 80% full), and bring the water to boil on medium heat.
2.Add 2 Tbsp. flour or potato starch and mix well.
3. Simmer over low heat for fifteen minutes, turn off the heat, and then leave the pot and water to cool to room temperature.
4. Wash and rinse the pot, then dry overnight before use.
Care and maintenace
After each use, please dry well and keep the claypot pot in a dry space to prevent mold or mildew. For the first 5 uses, please avoid leaving food and ingredients inside the pot after cooking. (This will help to season your pot for many years of use.) Please also avoid using curry, kimchi or similar seasoned foods for the first 5 times of use. (This will help to prevent discoloration and odors from lingering in the future.) Avoid soaking the earthen pot in detergent water. Wash and rinse only.
