This bath stool was crafted using Shimanto Hinoki from the Kochi Prefecture. Hinoki is strong, naturally antibacterial and mold resistant. Amongst hinoki, Shimanto Hinoki is known for containing a large amount of oil helping it dry quickly after use.

Philip Mitchell Unfortunately the “sauna stool” has a reeded surface that is very painful to sit on.
It should be made clear that these stools are not suitable for Japanese style bathing in showers and saunas.
